Saturday June, 4 was a special night for the fans at the Track of Champions Fonda Speedway as a Meet N’ Greet was held on the front straightaway with all fans allowed to walk around on the track to meet their favorite drivers. MORTENSEN MOTORSPORTS RACE REPORT 5/7/11

After a win the week before, Saturday evening May 7 at the Fonda Speedway was a tough one for Mark Mortensen. The problems started in the warm-up session at the beginning of the evening when the transmission started acting up and Mortensen drove the car into the infield off of turn four to get out of the competitors way. The car was pushed back to the pit area where the transmission linkage was worked on enabling him to get out on the track for his heat race. In the qualifying event Mortensen started eighth and when the checkered flag flew he was in the fourth spot which qualified him for the 16th starting position in the 20-lap feature. Read More

On Saturday July, 3 Mark Mortensen started eighth in the 20-lap Sportsman feature event after qualifying fourth in heat race number one. After having fuel pickup problems in both the warm-up session and the heat race event the pit crew of the #1M went to work changing the fuel filter, cleaning out the fuel line, and the carburetor jets.
